April 10 Worship Service at UUMC

On Sunday, April 10, 2011, the Sunday worship service at UBC will be held at University United Methodist Church at 11am. The service will include a special dialogue sermon with UBC’s Larry Bethune, Rev. Bill McElvaney, and Dr. John Elford.

College Prime Time Documentary Viewing

For the next five weeks, the UBC College group will be holding its UBC College Prime Time gathering on Tuesdays at 7:30pm to watch the PBS documentary Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth, a journey into the mind and spirit of legendary teacher and masterful storyteller Joseph Campbell who discusses the need for modern myths that fit our ever-changing world.

Compline Choir Performing This Sunday

The St. Louis King of France Catholic Church of Austin will be gracing us with teh presence of their Compline Choir led by Father Larry Covington, during worship on Sunday, March 20, 2011. This all-male choir specializes in chant and leads St. Louis’ Sunday evening compline worship.

Meditation & Compassion Group

Starting Monday, March 14, Richard Billingsley will lead a meditation group in a book study of “Compassion and Meditation.” The meditation group will meet every Monday for eight weeks from 6:30pm to 7:45pm in the College Lounge.
