The Open Circle serves as a ministry and outreach to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered (GLBT) community within and outside of University Baptist Church. Our unity in Christ enables and requires us to be open to all persons and to the variety of talents and gifts of God’s people regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity. It is through an “Open Circle” that University Baptist Church provides focused ministry and outreach to GLBT and their families both within the Church and in the community at large. Members of the Open Circle share the grace of openness in extending the fellowship of Christ to all persons.
Every year at Pride Austin, University Baptist Church is represented by members of our Open Circle Group, or University Baptist Church’s GLBT members. We rent a booth for the festival and pass out literature about our church, information about our annual Open Circle retreat in Oct/Nov and give out prizes to people who stop by. This is a great opportunity for outreach and we use this chance to let people know about our wonderful church. LGBT or non-LGBT, everyone is invited to help!. If you are interested, please contact Associate Pastor Stephanie True. Go to www.pridetexas.org for more information.
On the fourth Sunday of the month, we meet for lunch after worship. For more information, contact Bill Cox or Kris White.
