Classes meet Sundays at 9:30 AM
Led by UBC Member Joe Bell in the Conference Room of the Education Building
The John 21:25 class emphasizes the ways in which God is still moving and speaking today. This intellectually stimulating class is discussing the intersects of Christianity and Islam this fall.
Led by UBC Member Phil Duncan in the North Dining Hall
Prepare for worship by digging deeper into our Bible texts for the day. Following the liturgical calendar, this class journeys through a three-year cycle of scripture passages in this discussion-based class. For more information, see our Spiritual Formation Coordinator, Kay Suttle.
Coordinated by UBC Member Lisa Cauble in the Library
The Library Discussions class is a member-led, adult group that gets together to discuss a variety of topics. In the past, they have read Anne Lamott, The Gospel According to the Simpsons and led discussions on the video series “Painting the Stars.” This summer, the class will be discussing current topics, and how as Christians, our faith intersects our daily living. For more information, see our Spiritual Formation Coordinator, Kay Suttle.
Led by Associate Pastor Stephanie True and UBC Member Sarah Kammerdiener in the Maddry Center
Are you a younger adult or college student looking to connect on Sunday mornings? Looking for a place to talk about faith, social justice, and how all of that intersects our living and being? Then join the Young Adult Bible Study in the Maddry Center co-led by Associate Pastor Stephanie True and member Sarah Kammerdiener.
Pre-K through 4th grade
Using the lectionary-based curriculum Whirl, both the older (1-4 grades) and younger (Pre-K- Kinder) children’s classes will have a fun-fill, interactive, and learning-centered Bible Study experience. Following the Revised Common Lectionary, the children will learn to connect their Bible Study learning to the larger life and seasons of the church. Both classes meet in the Kid’s Place. The younger Children will be taught by Kari Taylor and the older children will be taught by Bill Cox.
Babies and Toddlers
Children up to 3 years old have childcare from 9:30am until 12:15pm every Sunday. The toddlers (2-3 years) use the curriculum Play: an interactive way of teaching children basic Bible stories and leads the children on a joyful discovery of God’s love.
Austin Capital Grannies provide consistent, reliable care for our babies and children in compliance with our Risk Management Policy, which requires us to provide two adult workers with children in each room at all times. All of our childcare and Bible Study teachers for children have background checks for the protection of our children.
University Baptist Church offers additional free childcare for all children during most church meetings and events. Throughout the year, the children have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities from Vacation Bible School to Children’s Camp with the Southwest Baptist Children’s Camping Association. Please see Associate Pastor Stephanie True for more information about these activities.
