Join us on Sunday, April 19 as we gather to honor the life of Gerrell Moore, beloved friend, lover of theatre, and saint of University Baptist Church. A fried chicken potluck lunch will be served at noon before the service in the Fellowship Hall on the first floor of the church.
Please park in the Callaway House parking garage, located along Nueces Street between 22nd and 21st Street. You can enter the church from San Antonio Street, across from the garage.
Gerrell Moore, 79, died Thursday, April 9, 2015, in Abilene, Texas. Gerrell was a son of the late Delbert and Beatrice (Winkles) Moore. He was a 1952 graduate of Lueders High School and was a member of the Hall of Fame. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Gerrell received a B. S. in Education from Hardin-Simmons University. He later earned his Master’s in Accounting from McMurry College. Gerrell was a member of University Baptist Church in Austin and worked as a school finance officer for Lueders, Hawley and Pflugerville ISD. A patron of the theater arts in Austin, the Performing Arts Center of Pflugerville I.S.D. was named after him in 2007. Survivors include his aunt, Reba Stapp of Abilene; one brother, Carl Moore of Lueders; two sisters, Mary Bauernfeind (and husband, Roger) of Abilene and Jeanette Honey (and husband, B. A.) of Abilene; nieces and nephews, Brad Birchum, Charla Birchum Sims, Rocky Moore, Russell Moore, Jenny Honey Conder, Julie Honey Gilbert, Paul Bauernfeind and David Bauernfeind. Memorials can be made to Wounded Warrior, American Heart Association, or your favorite charity.
