The daughter of missionaries, Katy Kammerdiener (she/they) grew up in Cali, Colombia, and Chattanooga, Tennessee. After moving to Texas, she spent time as an EMT and advocate at the National Domestic Violence Hotline, after which she entered Brite Divinity School. During and after her time at Brite, she was heavily involved in children's camp ministry with the United Church of Christ. She graduated from Brite with a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Sexual and Gender Justice. She has a passion for nontraditional education and justice. Katy lives with her overly feisty chihuahua, and can usually be found watching hockey or playing Dungeons and Dragons.
