Missions Partners

UBC Austin participates in a variety of Austin area ministries and events such as Habitat for Humanity, Austin Pride, freeze night shelters, and others. Through our association with the American Baptist Churches, The Alliance of Baptists, and other organizations, University Baptist Church contributes to international and North American Missions.

Micah 6

Micah 6 is a cooperative program of coordinated social ministries with the purpose of advocating for social justice and of effectively and efficiently meeting the basic and spiritual needs of persons seeking assistance from these Faith Communities in the University of Texas area. UBC hosts the Micah 6 Street Youth Ministry in our education building on Saturday afternoons, where anyone under 30 years of age is welcome to come for shelter, a meal, and access to laundry services, computers, and community. Micah 6 also operates the largest food pantry in central Austin. The pantry is across the street from UBC at University Presbyterian Church (2203 San Antonio Street) and is open 6 to 7 pm Thursdays and 10:30 to 11:30 Saturdays. Information on service opportunities can be found on the Micah 6 web site.

Labyrinth

UBC is a founding church partner of Labyrinth Student Ministries, a student-led organization centered in the heart of west campus. “Labyrinth is a diverse group of students from all across the tapestry of human existence. We are many races, genders, sexualities, beliefs, political parties, personalities, and abilities. No matter who you are, you are welcome here. At Labyrinth, we value good questions over easy answers. We aren’t scared of questions, not because we think we have the answers, but because we believe God is big enough to hold them. We value your voice in the conversation!”

The Bridge Collective

UBC partners with the Bridge Collective, whose mission is “to provide practical, responsive support for reproductive healthcare and resources for Central Texans. By mobilizing the power of volunteers, we strive to bridge the gap to ensure that all Central Texans have equal access to reproductive healthcare.”
